Care, Handling & Safe use

TEMPERATURE

BEFORE UNROLLING:

If you receive or use your mat in cold weather,
DO NOT unroll the mat until it has been kept at room temperature of 60° F or higher for a period of no less than 12 hours. Forcing a mat to unroll while it is cold may permanently damage the foam and vinyl coating.

UNROLL THE MAT:

(The mats have been rolled with the vinyl surface inward - Always roll and unroll the mats in this way. Forcing the mat to roll in the opposite direction will damage the mat foam and vinyl surface.)

ODOR:

The mat may have a distinctive odor.

The new vinyl coating may give off a characteristic odor during the first 24 to 48 hours.

It is recommended that the mat be unrolled in a well- ventilated area. Air flow and warm temperatures will help reduce the odor. Anyone who is especially sensitive to the odor should avoid being in the area of the mat during the first 48 hours.

BEFORE ANIMALS USE:

For vinyl coated mats shavings must be used over the mat before an animal is allowed to stand on the surface. The closed cell foam does NOT absorb liquid and even with an anti slip coating the surface may be slippery when wet! To avoid injury to animals or people always use with shavings at least 1inch thick

CLEANING:

The mat can be hosed or pressure washed on a light setting. Do not pressure wash with the nozzle closer than 18 inches as it may cause damage to the foam or vinyl topper. Dishwashing soap or Odoban  can be safely used on the mat for cleaning.

STORING YOUR MAT

Always inspect, clean and dry the mat before storing. Begin by rolling each section of mat. Always roll the mat keeping the vinyl side inward. Begin by folding one segment over to form a triangle. Then continue to roll the mat, making sure to keep the mat tight as it is rolled. Avoid “coning” the roll by moving slowly as the mat is rolled.

DO NOT use chains, ropes, wires, or ratchet straps to secure the mat section roll. Other fasteners can and will leave impressions and/or cuts in the mat surface.

The mats should be stored away from any areas that could puncture or damage the exposed foam. Never store the mat against, on top of, or beneath other objects because impressions or damage to the mat foam can occur.

The mats should be stored upright, standing on end, on a smooth, flat surface.

Do the mats stink?

We like to call this "Rinse & Repeat"

The mat is constructed with materials that will NOT absorb any liquid. We recommend a bag of shavings or two on top of the mat to absorb urine.

Of course they are not going to smell like a bed of roses after coming out of a stall for an extended stay but rinse them and they are good as new! You can also safely spray odoban on them as needed.

Will the design come off ?

The design is sprayed into the vinyl and cured by UV light during the manufacturing process and will not rub off, in addition to the UV print the mat also has a top coat. Rock'N Roll up mats are the ONLY mat on the market to offer a UV topcoat. Over time normal wear is to be expected.

How long will these mats last?

To be honest we have some mats that have been around years, 6 years to be exact. They definietly are showing wear and the foam is thinning out but they are still functioning.

To be fair we would think you will at least get two years out of them with normal wear. If you have a destructive animal of course it is likely yout mat will not last as long.

Will the mats rip?

These mats are very durable but they are not industructable. If you have a horse that constantly paws and or chews chances are they will tear the mat or damage the foam.

Is there a warranty ?

There is a 2 year warranty on any manufacture defects, this does not include damage animals cause and the warrany will be reviewed and determined on case by case basis.

Why do you only offer 1-5/8?

We have decided to only offer 1-5/8 thickness mats because this thickness is certified and tested for impact and shock absorbtion. Your animals well being is always at the forefront of our minds and we can not guarantee protection with the thinner options.

Do I need the entire stall covered with mat?

NO! Animals will learn quickly that the mat provides them releif and will lay on it no matter where it is placed in the stall.

Returns

These mats are made to each order, they do not sit in a warehouse waiting to be purchased, for that reason we are unable to take returns.

Refunds

If you have inadvertantly purchased something and it has not been made and shipped we are happy to refund you less the processing and restocking fees which is 7% of your purchase price.
